A rift has been reported in the relationship between Donald Trump and Elon Musk. First a slap down in a cabinet meeting last week where Musk was told that only cabinet heads can hire and fire within their departments.
Then reports that Musk’s offer to funnel millions into Trump’s political action committees has been turned down1.
When has Donald Trump ever been known to turn down money before?
I thought now might be a good time to look at the composite chart between the two men to find what could be going on.
The Mump composite chart
It is a fascinating chart, with a pronounced trine between Venus in Cancer and a Saturn/Sun conjunction in Gemini in the 11th house, and the Moon, Neptune and Jupiter in the 3rd house.
This suggests to me that the men are very much aligned in their thinking, and in their feelings. Elon Musk has said that he loves Donald Trump as much as a “straight man can love another”.
This statement is definitely supported by the minor grand trine in the composite chart. It links the 11th and 3rd house placements to a first house Pluto in Virgo.
There is a shared drive and ambition (Sun/Saturn) for how to convince (Gemini) the group (11th) that their beliefs (Jupiter) are the only way (Pluto, first house).
Uranus sits in the first house, so the two men together are seen as disruptors.
As I’m writing the post, the Moon, sits right on top of that Leo Uranus. It could possibly also highlight a difference starting to emerge between the two men.
What might happen next?
At the moment Uranus is transiting through the composite 10th house, bringing its turbulent energy to their career sector. Plenty of ups and downs and dramatic twists and turns. Anyone with eyes and ears could tell you that.
The most interesting thing about this Uranus is that it’s currently moving away from an exact opposition to the composite Mars in Scorpio in the 4th house. An easily offended and grudge bearing Mars that can have very fixed ideas about the homeland and be quite willing to fight for those ideas.
As Uranus in the 10th has opposed that composit Mars there could have been some unexpected events in the career sector challenging their shared drive to fight for (their version of) the homeland.
Another long-term transit is Pluto in the 6th house starting to square the composite Neptune in the third house.
So power struggles (Pluto) around labour or the work force (6th house) could be challenging the shared dream (Neptune) and how it’s communicated (3rd house).
All eyes on the 29th of March (again)
The eclipse on the 29th of March is an interesting day for this composite hart.
It falls in the composite 8th house of endings, power, money and death, squaring the composite Venus in Cancer in the 11th house. At the same time Neptune at the last degree of Pisces is squaring the composite Sun/Saturn in the 11th and forming an inconjunct to the composite 3rd house Moon.
Wow.
This time could be a crucial turning point in the friendship (Venus) built on shared dreams and the shared control of a group (the minor grand trine).
Neptune dissolves and as it is squaring the composite Sun and Saturn from the 8th house, it is possible that this relationship will be dissolved in some way.
But, whatever happens around that time, it might not be the end of the story for what these two men represent together.
Another significant time in the spring
Big things could be coming this spring and summer. This begins in early May, as Mars crosses the composite Ascendant. It could bring a lot of assertive energy to the relationship or to what it represents. Or it could suggest a fight of some kind. This could intensify as Mars crosses the composite first house Uranus on the 17th and 18th of May.
In the last week of May 2025 Jupiter will start to cross the composite Sun and Saturn, really shining a light on this relationship and what it means.
China, Musk and Trump
The often perceptive US correspondent Edward Luce suggests that if Trump softens his stance on China then Musk has won the battle. Many in the president’s team are China hawks, but Musk (with his business interests in China) isn’t.
On the day and time of writing the Trump/China composite chart has the Moon exactly on the Sun/Saturn/Mars conjunction in Leo in the 9th house.
This tells me that now is in fact a very good time to look at these charts (thank you Moon).
And what we have here are some quite interesting links to the timings in the composite chart between Trump and Musk.
The eclipse on the 29th of March falls in the 5th house and will square the composite Moon in the 2nd house and oppose the composite Neptune in the 11th, in the Trump/China chart. It also trines the first house Jupiter.
As I’ve mentioned in a previous post about the financial turbulence I’m expecting at the end of the month, the 5th and 11th houses are involved in many composite charts around this time. The 5th house in mundane astrology can represent the stock market.
So an event in the 5th house will square the joint China/Trump Moon – an ambitious Capricorn Moon in the 2nd house of security and finances. It will trine a first house Jupiter in Sagittarius, supporting a firm belief in doing things one’s own way.
Neptune in Libra in the composite 11th house could represent the dreams around harmony and balance in the collective (balanced trade perhaps?). This will be opposed by the event in the 5th house.
Could this signify an escalating (or full blown) trade war causing a stock market crash, or some other major, global financial shock.
Ultimately there is a lot of power in the Trump/China chart.
The chart ruler Mars sits right on the Leo Midheaven, in the 9th house, next to Saturn, the Sun and Pluto. There might be disagreements around beliefs and there is so much power.
Mars will cross all of these Leo placements from the middle of May to early June 2025.
A significant time
What is extremely interesting is that the eclipse on the 29th of March falls very close to the composite North Node in the shared chart between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping. I don’t have a birth time for the Chinese leader, so I’m working without houses.
In late April and early May Jupiter will cross the composite Venus and Sun in Gemini in this composite chart. From mid-March it has trined the composite Moon/Neptune conjuction in Libra.
Jupiter enlarges and highlights that which it touches. This can be either good or bad depending on where the placements are. It’s difficult to know exactly how this Jupiter transit will play out as I don’t have enough data, but it does look like there could be a lot of focus on this particular relationship, on these two men and what they represent.
The composite charts between Elon Musk and China and Musk and Xi Jinping are also very activated this spring.
In the Musk/China chart we have Chiron on the Ascendant and Uranus squaring a Sun/Uranus/Mercury conjunction in the 4th house from the first house on the 29th of March. The eclipse itself sextiles the Midheaven and 9th house Chiron from the 12th house.
Whatever this relationship represents will be wounded (Chiron) and shocked to its core (Uranus square 4th) by an event in the first house. Perhaps something hidden (12th house) will be revealed (MC).
***
I accidentally ended up creating a composite for Xi Jinping and China, which is so severely lit up by the eclipse on the 29th that I’m wondering if China might not go through something major around this time too.
It looks likely as the transits for China on that day has Pluto on the first house Moon and Uranus almost exactly on the IC. The eclipse in the second house is two degrees away from an exact opposition to the country’s 8th house Libra Sun.
Yikes.
A global shock of some kind is looking more and more likely around this time. And China looks like it could be particularly impacted.
For the Chinese leader the time around the eclipse brings a Pluto conjunction with his North Node, loosely opposing his Sun. And Neptune moving into Aries will start to form a square to his 0’40 degrees Mars in Cancer.
As many astrologers have already pointed out this month is looking like a particularly crazy time in the skies.
Hang in there. It’s not long until we know how all of this will play out.
