At a glance: Amateur hour, the Signal group chat and Russia

Identifying Neptune and a potentially compromised phone

When I get the exact time and date for a major event I’m often tempted to look at the astrology. And when that event is a journalist being added to a group chat where top level US officials are discussing classified strikes on a foreign nation on the day of an eclipse, well, how could you not draw up a chart.

And what a chart.

This is what we know so far:

Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic, was randomly added to a group chat with, among others, vice president JD Vance, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth. In this group they discussed an attack on the Houthi rebels in Yemen and also made candid remarks about other nations, including disparaging comments about Europe.

Goldberg gives us the exact time of when he was included in the chat in his article in The Atlantic:

Two days later—Thursday—at 4:28 p.m., I received a notice that I was to be included in a Signal chat group. It was called the “Houthi PC small group.”

Here is the chart. I’m using Regiomontanus as the house system as I want to read this as a horary chart, a method I like to use for events like this.

The chart ruler is the Sun, probably representing Jeffrey Golberg in this chart.

And the Sun has recently separated from a trine to Mars in the 11th house of groups. A slightly confused Mars perhaps, focused on protectionism in the sign of Cancer, in its fall and not in a great position. This could be the invitation to the group chat.

The Sun then finds itself in the 8th house, with a lot of other planets and the North Node. This house can speak of many things – sometimes of power, money and death. And this is of course a group chat specifically focused on discussing a military attack.

The Sun has also very recently met up with Saturn, looking lost in Pisces and also a bit confused and not very powerful, ruler over the 6th house of mundane, boring work. Could this be Aquarian Michael Waltz representative of Florida’s 6th congressional district?

The Sun is moving towards a sextile to Uranus in the 10th house, a shocking event in the house of career and status. And Jeffrey Golberg’s own status was definitely elevated by this surprising revelation.

The Sun will then arrive at a conjunction with the North Node and finally Neptune, before moving into Aries.

All of this is of course part of the story of the eclipse on the 13/14th of March. And the Sun here probably speaks of Jeffrey Goldberg’s own journey.

I wonder about that Neptune at the last degrees of Pisces though. It’s in its own sign, in the 8th house. A spymaster at the end of his career perhaps. But. It is possible that I see this because I’m looking for Vladimir Putin in this chart, more about why that is in a bit.

Let’s take another look at the chart with fresh eyes, forgetting about the Sun representing Jeffrey Goldberg. What else can it tell us about what might have been going on?

The thing that sticks out to me is that 8th house, and the loose T-square between the Moon in the 2nd house, Jupiter in the 10th house and the Sun/Saturn in the 8th house.

It’s a detailed-focus Moon in the house of finances, an unhappy Jupiter in the house of status and career and a Sun struggling with boundaries in the house of death and other people’s money.

There is also Chiron in the 9th house, a wounding related to foreign nations.

This does speak of the flavour of the time and perhaps of the current US government, with its myopic focus on certain aspects of the economy (Virgo, 2nd house), which is challenging the country’s status in the world (Jupiter, 10th) and the tension is made worse by an erratic relationship with setting boundaries (Saturn) and also completely ignoring boundaries and going all over the place (Pisces) when it comes to power and money (8th house).

I know different astrologers and tarot readers are seeing many different things in this time and in these events. That is perhaps only logical as there is so much going on. I keep coming back to the financial story, which is clearly there in the T-square between the 2nd, 8th and 10th houses.

There is something related to money that keeps coming up, something that is perhaps still hidden and yet to be revealed. Perhaps the fog will start to lift after Neptune moves into Aries.

However.

One of the most interesting takes on the Signal leak I’ve seen so far has nothing to do with the leak itself or with the economy, instead it’s about Trump’s negotiator Steve Witkoff being added to the group chat during his visit to Russia. Most journalists, diplomats and foreign leaders who visit Russia know not to take their personal phone, because that phone will be hacked.

Did Witkoff take his phone? Has it been hacked? And if so, what conversations or data did that give the Russians access to?

This is why I’ve been looking for Putin in all of this and thought I saw him in Neptune at the last degree of Pisces.

Putin who, if we decide to use the available birth data even though it might be false, has his natal Neptune at 21’10 Libra, exactly opposite the 9th house Chiron in the Signal group chat chart above.

Steve Witkoff’s transits for the eclipse on the 13/14th of March are also pretty spectacular.

The eclipse falls across his own Pisces Sun, Virgo Moon opposition. Neptune is opposing his Virgo Jupiter. Saturn is on his Mercury in Pisces. Pluto is opposing his Uranus in Leo and squaring his Neptune in Scorpio.

And transiting Jupiter is starting to form a grand cross to his Sun/Mercury/Venus in Pisces, his Moon/Jupiter in Virgo and his Saturn in Sagittarius.

I don’t have a birth time for him, so I’m working without houses, but whatever happened in Russia was probably pretty significant for him and a major event in the story of his life.

Perhaps we will find out what it was in the middle of June when Uranus crosses his Mars in Gemini and the North Node moves over his Sun (sorry guys, I meant his Mercury!).
